Commissioning a piece from Studio Lorraine
Commissioning a work of art is an exciting, creative journey that offers the uncommon opportunity for you to collaborate with an artist to bring your vision to life.
You may have a clear concept in mind, or fancy basing your commission on a special photograph, maybe one of my pieces inspires you but you would like it in a particular colour palette, or perhaps you just want to leave the all magic to me... the process will be tailored to your level of involvement.
This collaboration gives you the opportunity to play an active role in the creation of a piece of art that tugs at your heart strings. You will be the owner of a completely bespoke work of art to which you have a true personal connection.
The process
Step 1
Using my portfolio of past, recent and current works, choose the pieces that most resonate with you. Decide on the size of the work that you would like and contact me.
Step 2
Colour palettes are discussed, often depending on the ultimate situation/room in which the work will be hung.
Step 3
You will receive a digital rough sketch that you can approve or tweak before I start.
Step 4
I will produce your piece(s) in an agreed time – usually a couple of weeks – and the final work(s) will be taken to be framed (in the frame colour of your choice) and couriered to you as soon as possible. The whole process takes around a month – usually less.
